So which part of the world would the next Assassin’s Creed game be set in? Alain Mercieca, senior writer of Assassin's Creed Valhalla, has some places in mind. In an interview with The Gamer, he discussed the possibility of further adventures in the Ubisoft’s hit action-adventure franchise.
Mercieca says that he is “someone who is obsessed with history” and was enthusiastic about putting the next game in Brazil, featuring the period in history when the native tribes of South America came in contact with Spanish invaders. He was also keen on the possibility of setting the game in Malta.
“From the Incas to the Spanish Conquistadors, it is a very fascinating time. Though Black Flag did touch on some of it, I’m feeling more the Brazil region.”, he said in the interview.
Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is still a fresh title, being launched last year. Valhalla set the Assassin’s Creed action amongst the Vikings, with the leader of a raiding party Eivor as the playable character. The game features third person combat and the player can use traditional Viking weapons like axe, shield, spears, lances and bow and arrows. After this trip down English soil, fans would most definitely want an Assassin’s Creed title that stays true to its roots by being mostly stealth-based.
