RAIPUR: Amid complaints of disruption in oxygen cylinder supply from a factory, the Baloda-Bazar district administration has warned of FIR under Epidemic Diseases Act and Disaster Management against those involved in such activities. A district administration official spokesperson informed that all the necessary arrangements, including proper and timely supply of oxygen to hospitals treating critical Covid patients, are being taken care of.
However, even in such a difficult situation some people tried to create disruption while bringing oxygen cylinders from a private company located in Simga development block on Sunday. They finally agreed to provide oxygen cylinders after intervention of district administration officials. But, no doubt, the incident unneccesarily delayed the supply. Keeping this in view, additional district magistrate Rajendra Gupta has given strict warning to all such people and institutions not to create hindrances in this such a sensitive task. He said that protection and treatment of people suffering from corona is the top priority and the administration will ensure the patients do not have to face any unconvienence. He added that an FIR will be filed against those who try to obstruct oxygen supply will be booked under Epidemic Diseases Act and Disaster Management Act.
Notably, on Sunday around 50 people suddenly gathered at the main gate of the cement factory office opposing the transportation of oxygen cylinders. As per the instructions of additional collector, Simga Tehsildar along with team of officials including police reached the incident spot. The team of officials held a discussion with the management of the company. Following this ,the oxygen cylinders were bought safely to the hospital late on Sunday, said the official.
