E&C Announces Budget Hearing with EPA Administrator Michael Regan on April 29
Energy and Commerce Committee Chairman Frank Pallone, Jr. (D-NJ) and Environment and Climate Change Subcommittee Chairman Paul Tonko (D-NY) announced today that the Environment and Climate Change Subcommittee will hold a fully remote hearing on Thursday, April 29, on President Biden’s Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) budget request for fiscal year 2022. EPA Administrator Michael Regan will testify.
“A budget is an expression of priorities, and President Biden’s proposal to raise EPA’s budget is a testament to how highly he prioritizes clean water, clean air, the climate crisis, and Americans’ health. It is a welcome departure from the last four years of science denial and failure to address pressing public health issues, like PFAS contamination and unsafe drinking water,” said Pallone and Tonko. “We look forward to discussing EPA’s priorities and hearing more about the Biden Administration’s plans for solving the environmental and public health challenges before us.”
Additional details will be announced the week prior to the hearing.
