‘I am so grateful for them’
In an interview to Anan Magazine, he had said, “BTS members and ARMYs are the heroes in my life. I wanted to be, and should have been, everyone’s hero, but there were times I hit rock bottom and suffered in the pits of despair.” He added that it was the members and ARMYs who stayed by his side through that darkness. “They are my heroes. ‘Thank you for everything’
In the PERSONA album’s ‘Thanks to’ he had said, “Dear ARMYs. I feel so good these days and I’m super happy. I don’t have to be doing anything. Just spending time with you guys makes it enough for me. It makes me happy. And that feels almost strange to me. I used to be the type of person who felt the pressure to keep myself busy. I was almost always anxious. I’m not like that anymore. It must be because I’m now aware of the people around me, supporting me. So I owe it all to you. ‘I can’t live without you’
In 2019’s FESTA Bangtan News, the singer had said, “And bam! Just like that, ARMYs have been with us ever since. And together, we’ve come all the way here somehow. So now, I don’t think I can live without you all.”
‘I’ve got my eyes on you guys too’
In V Live Broadcast, he had said, “Watching you all sing along to the song made my anxiety go away. It was amazing. Just like the way you have your eyes on us, I’ve got my eyes on you guys too. Remember that, okay?”
‘I really love you all’
At 2019’s Love Yourself Hong Kong Concert, expressing his love for the ARMY, he had said, “I wanted to point out how much your love means to us. Each and every one of your voices count. Thank you for your endless love and support. And it would make me so much happier if you all could love yourselves as much as you love us. I just really wanted to tell you guys that. I really love you all.”
‘Makes me so happy that I’ve become someone important in your lives’
At 2018’s Tokyo Concert, he had said, “It makes me so happy that I’ve become someone important in your lives. And because you make me so happy, I want to make you the happiest person in the world too.”
‘Only because you are by my side…’
In an interview to DICON, he had said, “ARMYs, I’m sure you know how I feel when I look at you guys.” He added that only because they are walking alongside him, only because they are by my side, is he able to move another step forward.
‘Your pride in us is our pride’
At 2018’s MAMA Awards, he had said, “I really wanted to get this award again, here on this stage. Like I’ve always said, the pride that you find in us – that is the pride we take in ourselves. Your pride in us is our pride.”
‘I am forever grateful’
At 2017’s Wings Concert, he had said, “I just wanted to thank you all for helping us come this far. I am forever grateful. And there is so much more I want to share with you. Don’t worry. This is not the end of us.”
‘I want you to smile for real’
In 2016’s Muster, he had said, “Here’s something I wanted to share with you all. I want you to smile for real – not one of those smiles that you put on your face to move on with your day, but a real smile from pure happiness in your heart. I want you to always be able to put on that kind of smile. I want the best things to happen to you guys. You understand, right?”
