BHUBANESWAR: Despite heightened vigil at the Odisha-Chhattisgarh border, Nuapada, a small tribal-dominated district having 5.65 lakh population, continues to report a steady spike in cases.
With 303 cases on Tuesday, the district surpassed Sundargarh in new infections. The latter reported 241 cases as the state added 1,784 new infections in the past 24 hours.
The district now has two border check points. Besides, the district administration has created micro containment zone in one panchayat in Sinapali block.
District collector (Nuapada) Swadha Dev Singh said many shops and convention centres had been sealed for violation of Covid protocol.
