59 more die in Rajkot

Rajkot: A total of 529 people tested positive in Rajkot on Tuesday, while the city and district saw a record 59 deaths in 24 hours ending Tuesday morning.
Official sources said 3,273 people are under treatment in various hospitals in the city. Jamnagar district also recorded a record single-day spike with 302 positive case on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, Rajkot Municipal Corporation (RMC) registered an FIR against seven persons in various police stations on Tuesday for violating micro-containment zone rules. RMC officials registered FIR against Chintan Dodiya, Meghji Gautami, Girish Manek in Gandhidham police station; Nitesh Chudasama, Sikandar Bambhaniya in Bhaktinagar police station and Satish Sonagra and Piyush Sidhpara in Aji Dam police station. These people allegedly came out of the house from the areas that are declared as containment zones by the RMC.
