Both Tasmania's casinos have been forced to shut their doors since Easter due to a Windows ransomware attack.
The owner of the two gambling venues, Federal Group, locked its machines at Wrest Point in Hobart and the Country Club after what has been described as an "incident" on 3 April.
The Group also runs a number of hotels and the attack has affected booking systems at these outlets.
The company confirmed on Tuesday that the attack involved ransomware.
"As a result of hard work by our team and external experts, including over the Easter long weekend, the immediate incident itself has been contained," Federal Group
said in a statement sent to the
Daily Mail.
"The Australian Cyber Security Centre was notified and is co-ordinating relevant law enforcement agencies and continued forensic analysis.
"The incident is being actively investigated by Federal Group and external experts we have retained."
"Our team has done an excellent job to ensure we have been able to continue serving customers and guests," the company said.
