The meeting was held in view of an alarming rise in Covid-19 cases in the country and reviewing the vaccination drive in India.
The government has been trying its best to check the spread of infection by encouraging stronger adherence to the COVID appropriate behaviour among citizens.
Earlier last week, the Prime Minister had held a meeting with the Chief Ministers on the Covid-19 situation in the country. He stressed the need to create micro containment zones to effectively contain the rising cases of COVID-19.
The Prime Minister had also urged States to intensify their efforts on war footing.
