HPBOSE Exam 2021: In view of increasing COVID-19 cases in the state, it has been decided to postpone the Class X, Class XII and Under Graduate examinations to May 17, 2021, the Department of Education, Himachal Pradesh said. Earlier today, Union Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal announced that the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) class 10 2021 has been cancelled. The Minister also announced that the CBSE class 12 exams have been postponed. 

The decision comes after PM Modi held a meeting with Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal and top officials to discuss the issue. During the meeting, PM Modi reiterated that the well-being of the students has to be the top priority for the Government, according to a NDTV report. He also stated that the Centre would keep in mind the best interests of the students and ensure that their health is taken care of at the same time their academic interests are not harmed.

The Centre said that they would be held later and that the situation would be reviewed on 1 June by the Board. A notice of at least 15 days will be given before the start of the examinations. The board will also issue a revised schedule for Class 12th board exams on June 1.

Owing to the rising cases of COVID-19, the Ashok Gehlot-led Rajasthan government has also announced the postponement of class 10 and class 12 examinations.
