#Kolkata: Matua Mahasangha is in full swing in the state before the fifth phase of the state elections (West Bengal Election 2021 Phase 5). Mamata Banerjee has responded to the BJP’s mockery of Matua’s vote. The Trinamool leader has practically challenged the BJP by highlighting the development record of what Mamata Banerjee has done for the Matuas. At the same time, his challenge was, “If the people of the Matua community say that he has done nothing, then he will resign from Resigns from Politics.” And if the BJP is lying, then their leader has to get up. ‘

Mentioning what she has done for the Matuas, Mamata Banerjee said that when her elder mother fell ill, she repeatedly paid for her treatment at her own expense. Although this work is a blessing for her, the Trinamool leader said. At the same time he mentioned, Thakurnagar railway station, he did while he was railway minister. He has built schools, colleges and universities in the name of Matuas. Even on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Harichand-Guruchand Tagore, the state government has declared a holiday. Even then, Mamata protested against the way the BJP has spoken out against the government on the Matua issue. And so he challenged who has done how much in the development of the Matuas.

In the last Lok Sabha polls, the Trinamool Congress lost the Bangaon Lok Sabha seat due to Matuara turning away. Shantanu, the son of Mamtabala Tagore, the daughter-in-law of Matua’s Thakurbari, became a BJP MP. However, not only in Bangaon or a part of North 24 Parganas, but also in the neighboring district of Nadia, the Matua vote had an impact. As a result, the BJP wants to take Matua to the polls by attacking Mamata before the assembly polls. The list of his counter-development is being presented to the grassroots. It may be mentioned that the Trinamool Congress also lost the Ranaghat Lok Sabha seat inhabited by Matua to the BJP in the Lok Sabha polls. North 24 Parganas district Trinamool president Jyotipriya Mallick said, “The Matuas know very well what Mamata Banerjee has done for them. The BJP is lying about Mamata Banerjee’s work as soon as it realizes that Matua has changed its mind in this election.

The BJP swayed the Trinamool in the last Lok Sabha polls by promising to grant citizenship to the Matuas. However, Mamata Banerjee has said loudly in the election campaign, ‘Matuars are citizens of this country. They do not need any identity card. There will be no NRC here.
