No one knows. Anyone who claims they know (whether they believe in an after-life or not is wrong)!
Take Socrates' allegory of the cave in which he describes a group of people who have lived chained up to the wall of a cave their whole lives. The shadows that are projected on the wall from objects passing in front of a fire behind them are given names. These "shadows" are the prisoners' reality but they aren't really an accurate representation of the real world.
We currently have a very narrow minded view of the world. The laws we have created only apply to the material world that we understand. To us, that is our reality, but it doesn't mean it is actually reality.
There are also numerous cases of NDE's that have not been disproven by modern science (I have a 300 page book on this), and countless of anecdotes from various sources on stuff that just can't be explained.
Do I believe in the afterlife? I am open minded for sure.

I honestly hope we go on to a spiritual world, but if that is the end result, it won't matter because you won't exist to suffer.
My grandmother raised me, and I was with her until the end. I'd love to think she's in heaven, but who knows, maybe she's just nowhere because she doesn't exist. Everything that made her who she is, all her thoughts, her ways, are just gone. The day she died, everything just stopped, at least for her, while the world just keeps on going as though she never existed.

Well it’s looking like the hologram theory is real and that we live in a simulation. If that’s true which very well be then the odds of an after life is most definite if not probable. Just because if this is a simulation then anything is possible. Sometimes I wonder if any higher dimensions are after life worlds we can’t access yet. So far they’ve discovered 10 dimensions I believe.
Right now I’m pretty sure this is is a simulation and that there’s a lot more to life than what we are told. Probably suppressed for a reason.
