Bihar reports 4,157 new COVID cases

Patna, Apr 13 (UNI) With detection of 4,157 new positive cases during the past 24 hours, corona virus infection continued to rise alarmingly in Bihar where the number of active cases on Tuesday rose to 20,148.
According to health department sources the rate of infection in the state capital was scary.
Of the 4,157 new cases detected during the last 24 hours 1,205 were found in the capital Patna.
The sources said that 18 staff of Bihar Legislative Council and 11 officers and employees of Bihar Assembly tested positive for the infection. The state Legislative Council has been closed till April 18 in view of the rise in the number of COVID 19 cases.

Meanwhile a promoted IAS officer Vijay Ranjan posted as director Panchayati Raj department died of corona virus infection during the day at AIIMS in Patna.
