Tata Motors recently delivered a new Safari to the Maharani of Jodhpur, Mahendra Kumari Ji who is the wife of Late Maharaj Hari Singh Ji of the Jodhpur Royal family. The Safari has been in their family since 2001. The latest Safari is the fourth one to be owned by her.

The Safari that Rani Sahiba booked the XZ variant which sits below the top-end XZ variant. The colour of the SUV she opted for is Orcus White. The XZ variant of the Safari costs Rs. 19.15 lakhs ex-showroom. The XZ variant comes with Xenon HID projector headlamps, terrain modes, electronic parking brake, 7-inch TFT screen for the instrument cluster, 18-inch machined alloy wheels, ISOFIX child seat mounts, hill descent control, cornering fog lamps and electric adjustment for driver seat. The touchscreen infotainment system measures an 8.8-inches and comes with Android Auto, Apple CarPlay and 4 speakers, 4 tweeters, 1 subwoofer and an amplifier. All of which are sourced from JBL. The upholstery of the Safari is also finished in white colour which gives a very premium feel.
The Safari is offered in six variants, namely XE, XM, XT, XT+, XZ, and XZ+. There is also an Adventure Persona Edition that sits above all the variants. The Safari start at Rs. 14.69 lakhs ex-showroom for the base variant and goes all the way up to Rs. 21.45 lakhs ex-showroom for the Adventure Persona Edition.

The Safari is based on the OMEGARC platform which is derived from the Land Rover’s D8 platform. The Safari carries on Tata’s IMPACT 2.0 design philosophy. Powering the Safari is only a 2.0-litre Kyrotec diesel engine that produces 170 PS of max power and a peak torque output of 350 Nm. It is offered with a 6-speed manual gearbox or a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox.
