Siddipet: This year’s Ugadi cheered as many as 232 poor families living in rented houses in Siddipet for years, with Finance Minister T Harish Rao presenting documents of 2BHK houses in the Vipanchi Auditorium in Siddipet on Tuesday. The 232 beneficiaries include 15 different persons.
The government has built 2,460 houses in Narsapur, named after Prime Minister K Chandrashekar Rao on the outskirts of the city of Siddipet. After the prime minister inaugurated it in the second week of December, officials in Siddipet allocated the houses to beneficiaries in a phased manner after the applications were thoroughly investigated. The officials received more than 11,000 applications.
On the occasion, Harish Rao said that the beneficiaries have been selected for a long time. As the government was eager to check the status of homes before the award, there was some delay, he said, adding that the government’s sole purpose through the exercise was to ensure that the most beneficiary beneficiaries receive the award . “The government will house every homeless person in Siddipet,” he assured.
As promised by the prime minister, the government has allocated an additional 1 000 2BHK houses in addition to 2 460 houses to the Siddipet municipality, the minister said. He said the allocations were carried out in a very transparent manner without any room for contradiction, and said the government would take back the houses if anyone was found to be selling or renting their houses.
To make the occasion special, Rao offered new clothes to all the beneficiaries while presenting the documents. He wished they would have more success in their lives because they no longer have to pay rent.
MLC Farooq Hussain, municipal chairman K Rajanarsu, and others were present.
