Katy Perry brought bold glamour to the set of “American Idol” this week to welcome back a legendary guest judge: Paula Abdul.
The “Teenage Dream” singer herself sat alongside the series’ original judge in bold fashion. As styled by Tatiana Waterford, Perry modeled a latex-coated blue minidress from Bottega Veneta, complete with an asymmetric cutout neckline and dramatic ruching.
Bottega Veneta’s designs and footwear have quickly made it the brand of the summer when it comes to must-have pieces. With many of its footwear styles feature trending elements such as square-toe fronts and thong-toe finishes, the silhouettes keep up with growing revitalizations of ’90s-inspired designs that are sweeping the street style world. Spotted on the likes of Kylie Jenner in addition to Olivia Culpo, Emily Ratajkowski, Kourtney Kardashian and more, the Italian brand has risen the ranks as a top label for “It” girls across all industries.
To accent the bold number, the musician then tapped her own eponymous collection for a set of classic white pumps. Similar designs from the brand retail on sale for under $100 at KatyPerryCollections.com.
Earlier in the week, Perry debuted another standout ensemble for the music competition. The “Daisies” musician previewed her on-set attire on social media on Sunday night, opting for a vintage Alaïa gown that came coated in spots. The wild design featured a bustier-style bodice with a form-fitting finish and a chunky gold Sylvia Toledano cross necklace to match.
The new mom, who welcomed her first child with fiancé Orlando Bloom in August 2020, is no stranger to adding a bold piece to her rotation of ensembles. In addition to wearing standout looks and stylish shoes, the Grammy-nominated singer also has her own line of footwear. Perry launched her namesake collection in 2016 as a joint venture with Global Brands Group Holding Ltd.
“I like my shoes to tell a story through the heel, [asking]: ‘Can it be this or can it be that?’ I’ve tried to put many a different figure or ornament on the heels just to tell a story and to hopefully start conversations via your feet wherever you’re going, whatever you’re doing,” Perry told FN of her brand in 2018.
