European smart home shipments up 12% to 41 mln in Q4

The European smart home market recovered to ship 41.3 millions in the final quarter of 2020, up 12.2 percent year on year, according to the latest data from IDC. Smart TVs, one of the products that suffered the most between January and June of 2020, recovered in the third quarter and were one of the biggest contributors to growth in the final 3 months of the year. However, full-year shipments of smart home devices came to 104.6 million units, down from nearly 107 million in 2019.
