The Powerpuff Girls are all grown up in first look for live-action series

Blossom, Bubbles and Buttercup are all grown up in the first look of the live-action series.

In August last year, we reported that a new series is in the works at the CW network. The show's synopsis described the superheroes as 'disillusioned twentysomethings who resent having lost their childhood to crime-fighting.'

Filming for the series starring Chloe Bennet as Blossom, Dove Cameron as Bubbles and Yana Perrault as Buttercup, kicked off in Atlanta earlier this month. TMZ shared pictures of the cast on set in their colourful costumes.

On Monday, the network shared the official first picture of the cast as adults. According to Variety, the characters will only wear the costumes in flashbacks of their teenage years.

Other cast member includes Donald Faison as their father Professor Drake Utonium, Nicholas Podany as Mojo Jojo named Joseph "Jojo" Mondel Jr. and Robyn Lively will play Sara Bellum.
