Nearly 1,000 municipalities in Brazil without fibre backhaul

The latest version of Anatel's Structural Telecommunications Network Plan shows that there were still 988 municipalities without transport networks (backhaul). Most of them are located in the North and Northeast, in addition to municipalities in the northern region of the state of Minas Gerais. According to the Plan, the 4,403 municipalities with fibre-optic backhaul are expected to grow to a total of 4,883 in 2023.
