Ex-HP CM Virbhadra Singh tests COVID +ve, shifted to Max Hospital at Chandigarh

Shimla, Apr 13 (UNI) Six-time former Himachal Pradesh chief minister Virbhadra Singh was shifted to Max hospital at Chandigarh on Tuesday morning after he tested positive for nCoV.

The former chief minister's family members informed that Mr Singh's sample was found positive for nCoV at Indra Gandhi Medical College Hospital here yesterday. He was rushed to Max hospital in a private vehicle this morning. He is reported to be out of danger.

Last evening, a team of doctors of IGMC examined him at his residential complex. Octogenarian Mr Singh is legislator of Arki Vidhan Sabha segment of Solan District and regularly undergoing dialysis as he suffers from chronic kidney diseases.

Mr Singh was recently administered Covid vaccine and was not active in the political life due to his health problem.

Chief minister Jai Ram Thakur prayed for early recovery of Mr Singh in his social media postings .

Srinagar, Apr 13 (UNI) With S K Institute of Medial Sciences (SKIMS) stopping all routine admissions and surgeries in view of surge in COVID-19 cases, Doctors Association Kashmir (DAK) on Tuesday said patients will suffer immensely due to closure of these services.

'While it is critical to contain COVID-19 resurgence, it is vitally important to take care of non-COVID patients as well,' DAK president and influenza expert Dr Nisar ul Hassan said on Tuesday.
