Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah is television's most loved comedy show. It has a massive fan following but many have been disappointed with Daya ben aka Disha Vakani not returning to the show. Disha Vakani had gone on maternity leave and has not returned yet. Recently, the director of the show Malav Rajda was criticised by a user on social media for the content of the show and about the absence of Daya. Now, in an interview with ETimes, producer Asit Kumarr Modi has spoken about the claims of repetitive content. He said that when a show or a celebrity or anything is popular they have their supporters and haters both. He shared that they have been shooting during the pandemic and going through a lot of issues on daily basis. He cleared that he is not giving any excuse by speaking about the pandemic but they are trying their best to bring out entertaining content for the audience. He added, "We can't show a repetitive storyline to the audience because the sitcom has a repeat telecast on the channel and it is also equally loved by people and we will be caught. We can't afford to do that. We work day and night, the writers so that we bring good stories. We are not repetitive and that's the only reason the show has sustained in the industry for the last 13 years." He also spoke about Disha Vakani aka Daya ben's absence. He said that he understands that the audience is tired of waiting for Daya bhabhi and want to see her back. He shared that even he wishes to see Daya ben back but during this pandemic few things are not possible and the audience will have to support him for the next 2-3 months.
