Mother arrested in death of her 3 kids was in custody dispute
Court documents show Liliana Carrillo has been involved in a custody battle with the children's father.

- A community stunned by the brutal murders of three children held a vigil right outside their Reseda apartment building where those kids were found. And here's Eyewitness News reporter Amy Powell with the very latest, including some new details about the tumultuous relationship between the kid's parents.
AMY POWELL: On the sidewalk outside this Reseda apartment building, people leave flowers, toys, and candles in memory of three children, the victims of a horrific crime. Their heartbroken godmother placing photos at the site, identifying them as Joanna, Terry, and Sierra Denton.
GABRIELA GOMEZ: They were the most happiest kids I ever had around in my life. And I never thought that we would have to lose them so soon.
AMY POWELL: The grandmother of the three-year-old, two-year-old, and six-month-old victims found their bodies after returning home from work Saturday morning. Their 30-year-old mother, Liliana Carrillo, fled the area, but was captured and arrested as the suspected killer. Court records show Carrillo was in a dispute with Eric Denton, the father of the children. Denton recently filed paperwork in Tulare County, California for custody of his kids. In response, Carrillo filed a temporary domestic violence restraining order against him.
Gomez says her godchildren were joyful and full of life.
GABRIELA GOMEZ: They were everything to me, and I wanted to spend every minute of the day with them, even after tireless days of work, I just want to be with them.
