Maharashtra Covid-19 lockdown news live: Lockdown likely to be imposed from mid-week

The state government has begun preparations in the run-up to a lockdown, which is likely to be imposed from mid-week. CM Uddhav Thackeray and his deputy Ajit Pawar held meetings to discuss the SOPs and also to delegate financial powers to local authorities to deal with the second wave. Senior state government officials said that it is likely that a decision will be taken on Wednesday, and the work of drafting SOPs on how the lockdown will be imposed is under way.
