Gangtok, Apr 12 (UNI) The Sikkim government on Monday announced a new set of guidelines to tackle the rise in cases of COVID-19 in the state.
Chairman Executive Committee (under Disaster Management Act 2005) Chief Secretary SC Gupta ordered that all the gatherings, including political, social and religious will be restricted to 50 persons from April 17. Moreover such gatherings can only be held with the prior permission of District Collector.
"All the shops would remain closed on weekends till April 30. Only the medicine, ration and vegetable shops will remain open. Usual closure of shops on Tuesdays, Thursdays has been suspended," the government said.
For people arriving in Sikkim from other states have to produce an RTPCR negative test report of not more than 72 hours before. The tourists will also have to undergo a Rapid Antigen Tests done at the entry point.
