Ranchi, Apr 12 (UNI) The Jharkhand High Court on Monday, once again rapped the state government, over the tackling of Coronavirus in the state especially the capital Ranchi and observed that a health emergency was prevailing in the state.
While hearing a PIL filed by one Sunil Kumar Singh the bench of Chief Justice Dr Ravi Ranjan and Justice SN Prasad said that it is taking a week for reports of Coronavirus samples to come while beds in hospital are full and bodies have to be kept in que for cremation.
The court directed the Health Secretary and Director RIMS to organise a general body meeting and ensure purchase of all the necessary equipments and machines.
During the hearing Director Health and Civil Surgeon Ranchi appeared via video conferencing. The court has directed the Health Secretary, RIMS Director, Ranchi DC, RMC Commissioner and Ranchi Civil Suregon to appear before it on Tuesday in connection with the same matter.
During the hearing the court was informed that second wave of Coronavirus started from March 18 in the state and now there are 13933 active patients in Jharkhand. Further on a daily basis 30,000 samples are being tested in the state.
The court directed the authorities to make sure that the private and government hospitals come up with a dash board. Through a display board the hospitals should inform regarding their bed strength, number of occupied and number of vacant beds, details related to oxygen supported beds and general beds will also have to be displayed by them the court said.
The court during the proceedings also rapped the Civil Surgeon for making contradictory statements and instructed him to file a new affidavit on Tuesday.
