Thane, Apr 11 (UNI) Maharashtra Minister of State for revenue Abdul Sattar has ordered the Thane district collector to immediately probe into the complaints of misuse and misdeeds in the allotment of government land for Journalists in Thane district by a private person.
A delegation of the Thane Zilla Patrakar Sangh lead by the President Sanjay Pitale met the minister on Saturday and submitted him a memorandum in which they pointed out that the plot given to the journalist of Thane district some 25 years back was grabbed by a private person and commercial building constructed over it.
Talking to the media he said that the purpose for which the plot was allotted by the government is not not served as yet. The contractor to whom the work of construction was given had fabricated the documents and used it for commercial purpose.
He said that it was a serious matter to fabricate the records of the government allotted plot and dispose it off and hence he had ordered the collector to probe into the matter.
The building was pulled down by the TMC recently as dilapidated they pointed out.
They also pointed out that the builder had sold the tenements in the building cheating the buyers and in one case a single apartment was sold to two persons.
The delegation urged the minister that the plot be restored to the Journalists for the construction of a Patrakar Bhavan for the district.
The minister who took serious cognizance of the issue directed the district collector Rajesh Narvekar to probe into the complaint forthwith and in keeping with the legalities decide on the same and register a criminal offence against the contractor builder.
The misdeeds of such land grabbers(Bhoo Mafia) should be brought to check the minister said and added that the collector has been ordered to take action within the next 15 days positively.
