NEW DELHI: Tech giant Google is reportedly shutting down its mobile shopping app for Android and iOS. As reported by 9to5Google, Google’s mobile shopping app won’t work for users and it’s redirecting users to its web shopping website.
A Google Spokesperson also told 9to5Google, that the app will continue to function through June. The spokesperson said, "Within the next few weeks, we’ll no longer be supporting the Shopping app. All of the functionality the app offered users is available on the Shopping tab. We’ll continue building features within the Shopping tab and other Google surfaces, including the Google app, that makes it easy for people to discover and shop for the products they love.”
On the other hand, the shopping.google.com website will remain active and you can continue shopping from there.
The shopping app from Google enabled users to select from thousand of online stores and purchase the selected item via Google accounts.
Last year in December, Google shut down its Trusted Contacts app. The personal safety app enabled users to share their location with select contacts in case of emergencies.
