Telangana records 2,251 fresh COVID-19 cases, six fatalities until Sunday night

Hyderabad, Apr 12 (UNI) Telangana registered 2,251 fresh Coronavirus infections until 2000 hours on Sunday to take the Cumulative Case tally to 3,29,529 so far.
After six patients died of COVID-19 in the past 24 hours, the total toll due to the pandemic stands at 1,765 translating a case fatality rate of 0.53 per cent as against the countrywide mortality rate of 1.3 per cent, according to a state health department bulletin here on Monday.
As many as 565 people have recovered from Coronavirus statewide pushing the total number of recoveries thus far to 3,05,900 constituting a recovery rate of 92.82 per cent while the National recovery rate was 89.9 per cent.
The active cases in the state now stand at 21,864 including 14,431 individuals in home or institutional isolation, the bulletin said.
Between Saturday and Sunday, 79,027 swab samples were tested in the state to detect the contagious virus and out of which the results of 2,975 swab samples are awaited.
Since the outbreak of Coronavirus pandemic, more than one crore and ten lakh COVID-19 tests have been carried out in the state so far.
The worst-hit Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) continued to be the main contributor of the infection by reporting a maximum of 355 new Coronavirus cases during the last 24 hours followed by Medchal Malkajigiri district (258), Nizamabad district (244), Rangareddy district (200), Sangareddy district (132) and Jagityal district (117).
The remaining COVID-19 cases have been registered by other districts, the bulletin added.
