New Delhi: Several BJP leaders from West Bengal Monday shared an image of an injured Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel, claiming that he was attacked by members of the Trinamool Congress.
Leaders such as Saumitra Khan, president of the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha and MP from Bishnupur, and BJP MLA Abhijeet Singh Sanga tweeted the photo of the officer, who had a deep gash on his cheek.
In his tweet, Sanga said: “Wonder how many people Mamata didi will get killed fearing the fall of her government.”

BJP leader and MP from Barrackpore Arjun Singh had also tweeted the photograph, but deleted it soon after.
All three of the politicians have verified handles, and their tweets garnered 800 likes in total and have also been retweeted more than 500 times.
The image of the CISF personnel was also shared on WhatsApp and Facebook.
Fact check
The photograph of the wounded officer, however, is from Jharkhand and not West Bengal. Furthermore, the CISF official was attacked by langurs and not members of the TMC.
The incident was reported in the Dainik Jagran Saturday as well as Prabhat Khabar.
CISF officer S.P. Sharma was attacked by three langurs when he was on night duty in Baghmara, located in the Dhanbad district of Jharkhand.
According to the article in Dainik Jagran, he tried defending himself with a stick but the langurs wounded him badly. This is not the first attack by langurs to take place in the area.
ThePrint also confirmed the incident with the Baghmara Police Station who further explained that such attacks had taken place in the past and were becoming a menace for security forces.
