Nitish Rana (80 off 56) and Rahul Tripathi (53 off 29) led Kokata Knight Riders’ batting line up as they beat Sunrisers Hyderabad by 10 runs in Match 3 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021.
A late cameo from Dinesh Karthik (22 off 9) also helped KKR’s cause as they set a massive 188-run target for SRH after being asked to bat. Rashid Khan was the pick of the SRH bowlers, finishing with a spell of 2/24.

In reply, SRH lost openers David Warner and Wriddhiman Saha cheaply. Bairstow (55 off 40) then got along with Manish Pandey (61* off 44) and forged a 92-run stand for the third wicket. While Pandey remained unbeaten, the remaining middle-order batsmen failed to make an impact as the required run rate kept climbing. Prasidh Krishna led the bowling attack, picking up two wickets but all KKR bowlers were proved costly, conceding 8 runs per over or more, barring Pat Cummins.
With the win, KKR have dislodged RCB on the second position, while SRH have dropped to the seventh spot. DC, who also have a win to their name, occupy the top spot by virtue of their superior net run rate.
Yesterday, DC beat CSK by seven wickets, while in lung opener of the tournament, RCB got the better of MI (by two wickets) in a thrilling encounter.
Sanju Samson-led RR will lock horns with KL Rahul-led Punjab Kings in Match 4 of IPL 2021 tomorrow.
