Skerritt & Shallow re-elected as president & vice-president of CWI

St John's (Antigua), Apr 12 (UNI) Ricky Skerritt and Kishore Shallow have been re-elected for a second term as president and vice-president of Cricket West Indies Indies (CWI) respectively.
Skerritt and Shallow were elected unopposed at CWI's annual general meeting on Sunday. The duo will serve a two-year term until March 2023.
Skerritt was virtually confirmed for a second term after his rival Anand Sanasie and his running mate Calvin Hope announced on April 1 that they were withdrawing from the contest.
"We have much unfinished work to do, and we renew our pledge to work untiringly to help achieve sustainable improvement, both on and off the field, for West Indies cricket," Skerritt said in a CWI statement following his confirmation as the president.
"I am humbled and deeply honoured to be re-elected to serve as CWI President for a second term. I take the responsibility to lead the Board of this prestigious organization, most seriously. We have much unfinished work to do, and we renew our pledge to work untiringly to help achieve sustainable improvement, both on and off the field, for West Indies cricket," he added.
Shallow, the CWI vice-president, said being re-elected was a victory for West Indies cricket.
"It (being re-elected) is a victory for West Indies cricket as we continue on the path of growing the game across the region and achieving good outcomes on all fronts and at all levels," he said.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the meeting took place virtually via video conference. All of the Territorial Board Member Associations were fully represented.
