In the opening match against Rajasthan Royals, he slammed fifty off just 31 deliveries that featured 5 fours and 2 sixes. He went on to score 91 runs off just 50 balls [4×7, 6×5]. In his innings, KL Rahul also shared a fifty partnership with Chris Gayle (40) and Deepak Hooda (64). The 28-year-old has also completed 2,000 runs for Punjab Kings.

KL Rahul was the Orange Cap holder in IPL last year. He had slammed 670 runs in just 14 matches. It included 5 fifties and a century. The right-handed batsman would like to replicate his success in IPL 2021
Rahul was in blistering form for India in the recently concluded series against England where he had smashed a century and a fifty. He fell prey to Chris Morris off the 3rd delivery in the 18th over.

In the match, Rajasthan Royals skipper Sanju Samson on Monday won the toss and opted to field first against Punjab Kings in game four of the Indian Premier League (IPL) here at the Wankhede Stadium.
For Punjab Kings, there are three debutants as Riley Meredith, Jhye Richardson, and Shahrukh Khan have been named in the final playing XI. Universe Boss Chris Gayle handed out a cap to Shahrukh Khan.
After the first innings, Punjab Kings scored 221/6 in their stipulated 20 overs. Deepak Hooda slammed 64 off 28 balls while Chris Gayle added 50 runs. Debutant Chetan Sakariya and Chris Morris scalped 3 and 2 wickets respectively.
