There is no lockdown in Telugu states and also the government has no plans to implement any in the coming future. Also, there are no restrictions on the theaters, but the theater owners are literally shivering at the moment to screen movies in their theaters. It is all because of the producers who are stepping back from releasing the movies and instead of postponing them.

Shekar Kammula’s ‘Love Story’ was slated to release this week, but due to an increase in corona cases the makers have postponed the release. Also, the movies that are slated for later release this month were also postponed. At present ‘Vakeel Saab’ is the only movie that is ruling the theaters.

The theater owners are thinking to take voluntary bundh as the producers are not showing interest to release new movies yet. Though they screen just any movie, they are saying that the collections will not be sufficient even to pay the current bills. So, they are willing to close the theaters instead.

Though there are no restrictions of COVID-19 in the theaters, the owners are planning to close them at the moment. We cannot blame producers in this matter as they are in a huge dilemma whether to release the movie or not, if they release whether audiences come to the theaters or not. If they release the movie into the theaters, they miss out the chance to release it on OTT. So, they are thinking to release the movies only after everything comes to normal.
