Linde Engineering, AGR to Develop Green Hydrogen Project in Germany

Herten/Germany – Linde Engineering has won the official bid for the design and construction of an integrated hydrogen fueling station and electrolysis plant for AGR in Herten, Germany.

The project comprising hydrogen production and high-performance fueling technology is receiving funding of up to 7.3 million dollars (6.2 million euros) from the German Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure in the framework of the National Innovation Program Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Technology (NIP). The funding guidelines are being coordinated by Now and implemented by the company Project Management Jülich (Ptj).

The project encompasses proton exchange membrane (PEM) electrolyzers, compressors, storage tanks and high-performance fueling stations. The contract also includes provisions for Linde Engineering to provide maintenance and service. The electrolyzers will have an annual capacity of around 440,000 kg of hydrogen. The electricity will come from AGR’s waste-to-energy thermal power plant, where municipal and commercial waste with a biogenic content of around 50 per cent serves as the primary fuel source.

Technip Energies Wins Contract for Upgrading IOCL’S Barauni Refinery in India

Technip Energies has recently been awarded a significant Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Commissioning (EPCC) contract by Indian Oil Corporation Ltd (IOCL) for its BR9 Expansion Project in Barauni, Bihar, in the Eastern part of India.

This EPCC contract covers the installation of a new Once-through Hydrocracker Unit (OHCU) of 1 million metric tons per annum (MMTPA) capacity, a Fuel Gas Treatment Unit (FGTU) and associated facilities. The OHCU, in combination with downstream refinery units, will enable production of BS VI Grade fuels – similar to Euro VI Grade fuels – and petrochemicals.

Axens’ Technology Selected for Basrah Refinery Upgrading Project in Iraq

Part of Iraq’s Ministry of Oil, the state-owned South Refineries Company (SRC) executed the upgrading of its refinery located in Basrah, Iraq by implementing a new refining plant adjacent to the existing refinery facility. The Basrah Upgrading Project is now reaching the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) phase carried out by JGC Corporation (JGC).

Axens is pleased to continue being involved in this important Iraqi project, which will increase the gasoline and diesel production along with other oil products, reducing the national refined products imports. The Basrah Upgrading Project will also improve oil refinery efficiency of the complete facility.

The different Axens’ technologies that were selected and will be used in the project are a Diesel hydrotreatment unit (Prime-DTM), a VGO Hydrotreating unit, a VGO FCC unit, and an oligomerization unit (Polynaphtha).
