    Indian vaccine makers tap Rs 900 crore government funding scheme

    Indian vaccine makers such as Serum Institute and Bharat Biotech have appealed to the government to fund the expansion of their vaccine manufacturing facilities so that they can accelerate production.

    India’s top vaccine makers have approached the department of biotechnology (DBT) seeking support under the ₹900 crore Covid Suraksha Fund to accelerate their vaccine development programmes.Announcement of the first round of funding is expected this week, and Biological E and Gennova are likely to receive up to ₹100 crore in this round, people in the know said.
