The duo failed to do well in their first match. While Jhye Richardson got hammered away 55 runs in 4 overs with 1 wicket, Riley Meredith was hit for 49 runs in 4 overs and took 1 wicket.

Australian all-rounder Riley Meredith was picked up by Punjab Kings for Rs 8 crore in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) mini players auction. The 24-year-old had listed his base price as Rs 40 lakh heading into the auction. Delhi Capitals and Punjab Kings had a bidding war for Meredith, but in the end, the pacer was picked up by Preity Zinta’s franchise.

Jhye Richardson- Rs 14 crore
Australian Jhye Richardson was sold to Punjab Kings for Rs 14 crore in the mini-auction of the Indian Premier League (IPL). Richardson entered the auction with a base price of Rs 1.5 crore and attracted a lot of interest from different teams but was picked up by Punjab Kings. The Australian was expected to fetch a big price, thanks to his fantastic form in the Big Bash League, scalping 29 wickets in 17 matches.
