Nashik, Apr 11 (UNI) The Nashik citizens responded well to the fifth consecutive weekend lockdown because a rapidly rising covid number in the city On Saturday and today all the shops in the Nashik city as well as in the district were closed and given response to break the Covid-chain.
According to state government orders , all establishments except for pharmachines were to remain shut on weekends.
COVID cases are rapidly rising in the city and district. There is an acute scarcity of patients beds, oxygen supply and Remdesivir injections, and other COVID medications. Fearful of these conditions, citizens preferred to stay at home.
The government has implemented strict preventive measures, and city police are ensuring that these provisions are being strictly implemented.

The administration’s measures include prevention of gathering of more than four persons between Monday to Friday and night curfew, along with complete lockdown on weekends. Police are taking stringent actions against the violators of these provisions.
Therefore, all shops except for those selling essentials remained closed on Saturday. Although citizens were seen driving their vehicles on the roads. The majority of these had left homes for medical purposes.
