'Greatest Showman' Star Surprises Fan Performing Iconic Dance in Viral Video

A cast member from the smash hit The Greatest Showman stunned a fan after joining in their impromptu street dance.

Alex Wong starred alongside Hugh Jackman and Zac Efron in the musical, dancing in the ensemble in an elaborate headpiece adorned with feathers.

Wong, originally from Canada, was walking past The Nederlander Theatre, in New York, when he heard one of the hit tracks from the film, "From Now On."

He spied a fan filming herself doing the intricate steps to the song, so thought he'd surprise her by joining in her video.

Wong shared a clip to his TikTok page, alexdwong, showing the moment he jumps in on the dance, perfectly in time with the beat, which has been watched more than 13 million times.

He said: "I saw this girl filming a TikTok of The Greatest Showman. I'm an original cast member in the movies so I thought it would be hilarious if I joined her."

The "wholesome" clip shows the pair performing the routine, before the fan asks Wong to re-do the entire song with her.

She says: "I got the counts wrong! Can we do it one more time?"

The lucky fan later shared her own version to social media, under the name Maria Papakonstan, thanking Wong for surprising her.

She wrote: "NYC is so special @alexdwong just came up and danced with me."

Commenting on the impromptu cameo fellow TikToker, called By Jess, wrote: "I freaking loved that he came over and danced with you!!"

Christina Lizzo said: "Okay. I would DIE if this happened."

Another, called Krystal, thought: "I couldn't stop smiling. This touched my soul, so wholesome."

This fan, called Jade Anonuevo, added: "Why did this video gave my goosebumps and made me cry. [sic]."

Jessi said: "Why am I crying. I miss living in New York and moments like this."

Joslyn raved: "This is awesome! So sweet of him to come and dance with you."

While Lilli revealed: "I was literally in that same spot 3 weeks ago and this couldn't have happened back then."

The Greatest Showman was released in 2017, and features an all-star cast including Zendaya, Michelle Williams and X-Men royalty, Hugh Jackman, as protagonist, P. T. Barnum.

It received a slew of award nominations, and notably won the Golden Globe Award for Best Original Song for the track "This Is Me," in 2018.

The show's soundtrack and dance numbers proved a hit online, with fans sharing their own parodies, routines and renditions of the film's hit songs.
