Virbhadra Singh (86) has been tested positive for Covid-19. His son
Vikramaditya Singh, Congress MLA from Shimla (Rural), had tested positive for the virus on Sunday.
Himachal Pradesh reported 9 Covid-19 deaths and 1,089 new cases on Monday, while 380 patients recovered.
CM Jai Ram Thakur has posted on Facebook that news of Virbhadra Singh and his family members being tested positive for Covid-19 is a matter of concern and he had telephonically enquired about the well being of Virbhadra Singh from his family.
Maximum 3 deaths were reported from Una district, 2 deaths from Mandi district while one death each has been reported from Shimla, Kullu, Sirmaur and Kangra district. State has total 70775 confirmed positive cases of which 6069 cases are active, 63558 patients have recovered while 1111 patients have died.
Of the total 1089 positive cases reported, maximum cases were reported from Kangra, Solan,
Lahaul-Spiti, Hamirpur, Shimla and Una districts. On Monday, 5826 samples were tested. Total 1338611 persons have been tested for Covid-19 till date of which 1267270 persons have been tested negative while results of 566 samples are awaited.
Positive cases reported includes 82 from Bilaspur district, 16 from Chamba district, 98 from Hamirpur district, 249 from Kangra district, one from Kinnaur district, 45 from Kullu district, 114 from Lahaul-Spiti district, 66 from Mandi district, 94 from Shimla district, 73 from Sirmaur district, 166 from Solan district and 85 from Una district.
Those recovered include 58 from Bilaspur district, 28 from Chamba district, 74 from Hamirpur district, 24 from Kangra district, one from Kinnaur district, 2 from Kullu district, 26 from Mandi district, 36 from Shimla district, 13 from Sirmaur district, 40 from Solan district and 78 from Una district.
