Sensex slumps 1707.94 pts

Mumbai, Apr 12 (UNI) The BSE Sensex on Monday crashed 1707.94 pts to settle at 47,883.38 fearing that the government could go for stricter lockdowns to contain the second wave of Covid-19 and hampering the economic recovery.
The Nifty too eased by 524.05 pts to 14,310.80.
The sensex registered days high and low at 48,956.65 and 47,693.44 pts respectively.
The Nifty recorded days high and low at 14,652.50 and 14,248.70 pts respectively.
