On National Pet Day, Andrew Yang remembers dog he gave away

It’s been a ruff day for Andrew Yang.

Hours after the New York City mayoral candidate obtained backlash for his name to crackdown on unlicensed street vendors, Yang screwed the pooch once more with a baffling tweet in honor of National Pet Day.

“On #NationalPetsDay celebrating our dog Grizzly who we raised as a puppy but had to give away because one of our boys became allergic to him,” he tweeted on Sunday, together with two images of the small white pup. “Miss you Grizz! #dogsforyang.”

However, Yang’s honesty didn’t go over properly on social media.

Thousands replied to the publish on Twitter, a few of them indignant together with his determination to rehome the dog — however most of them have been simply confused as to why he was celebrating the household pet he selected to offer away.

“Andrew you didn’t have to post this,” tweeted one Twitter consumer.

“When people ask me why any candidate needs messaging experts, I’m just gonna point them to this tweet,” wrote one other.

Undeterred, Yang replied to his preliminary tweet with a 2019 video of the canine previously often called Grizzly.

In it, the pooch is barking at his proprietor’s ft whereas a busy Yang ignores its cries for consideration.

“He still remembers daddy.”

Yang isn’t any stranger to on-line backlash.
