Bengal Elections 2021: HM Amit Shah promises to control ‘poll-related violence’ if voted to power
Elections for Bengal reached halfway as the fourth phase of elections concluded on Saturday, April 10.
On Sunday, April 11, Home Minister reached Shantipur, West Bengal to hold a road-show for the upcoming assembly polls on the seat. After holding the road-show, Union Home Minister said that all types of poll-related violence will end in Bengal if they comes to power.
Home Minister Shah said, “Except for this one incident of Sitalkuchi, elections in West Bengal have been conducted peacefully so far. I promise that after BJP comes to power here political and poll-related violence will end in Bengal,” as quoted by ANI.

Shah also blamed CM Mamata Banerjee for doing politics of appeasement. He said, “Mamata Banerjee condoled only four people. She did not shed a single tear for Anand Burman because he belonged to a Rajvanshi community. He was not fit for her appeasement politics. This type of politics is not the culture of Bengal.”
Shah further added, “Mamata Banerjee still has time to condole the fifth killing (Anand Burman) and apologise to the people of Bengal for her speech,” as quoted by ANI.

As the elections reaches the halfway all the parties are working hard and BJP senior leader also working hard and Amit shah will address six public meetings in Bengal and he will also hold three roadshows in the State.
The fourth phase of polling in the state ended on Saturday. However, violence erupted in Cooch Behar district on Saturday after the CISF opened fire at a mob that leads to killing of four people, which TMC claimed of its supporters.
On April 11, Election Commission banned entry of all politicians in Cooch Behar district of West Bengal for next 72 hours to prevent all unlawful activities and prevent violence.
Election Commission also directed Ministry of Home Affairs to deploy 71 more CAPF companies for upcoming four phases of elections in the West Bengal. In the fourth phase of the elections, a total of five persons were killed, including four in alleged firing by Central Reserve Force personnel.
