Moga , Apr 11 (UNI) With Arhtiays calling off strike on the assurance of chief minister and normal functioning of Mandies, farmers for the first time will get the payment of their produce directly in their bank accounts and now the state government is all set to procure about 130 lakh metric tonne wheat.
Arhtiays started protest against Modi government's adamant attitude of depositing MSP in their accounts by- passing Arhtiays.
Arhtiays were demanding Rs 131 lakhs from the state government for 2019 paddy purchase and another Rs 200 Crores from the FCI.
Vijay Kalra, president and Amarjeet Singh Gill General secretary respectively of the Punjab Arhtiays association today claimed that Lal Singh chairman of Punjab Mandi board assured to release Rs 131 Crore by Monday and another Rs 200 Crore which FCI owes to the state government will be released within next few days.
Both Kalra and Amarjeet claimed that government will deposit their commission money in bank account and now farmers and Arhtiays would not face any inconvenience during the entire process.
As per the assurance by the chief minister Arhtiays will remain an integral part of the procurement process.
Punjab Arhtiays claimed that Punjab has nearly 33000 Arhtiays who deal with 6.93 lakh farmers. They will also continue providing logical cleaning weighing, packing and loading in vehicles.
Both Arhtiays leaders said government will deposit will commission money in their bank accounts and now farmers and Arhtiays would not face any inconvenience during the entire process. Kalra also claimed that meeting between Punjab food minister and the Arhtiays succeeded.
