Telangana: A rehabilitation and relocation package like never before

Hyderabad: For the first time in the history of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, the Telangana government is implementing the rehabilitation and resettlement package which is considered to be the best in the country. The displaced families are provided with a double room house built in a spacious land of 250 square meters. If the beneficiary wants to build a house on his / her own, the government has also provided R5,04 lakh for the purpose in addition to the erf.

To enable the planned growth, the government is establishing layouts and providing the plots to the beneficiaries with facilities such as 18 meter main roads and 12.9 meter internal roads, drainage systems, power and drinking water connections, green and other facilities. Furthermore, facilities such as a school, a health care center, places of worship, parks, crematoria and other public spaces are also planned.

In Thunkibollaram, where the R & R colony of the curators of the Kondapochamma Sagar project was located, the government also built a shopping complex for the benefit of more than 1,139 families from the towns of Mamidyala, Bailampur and Thanedar of Mulugu Mandal, which is now under water. the waters.

One of the largest R&R colonies, spread over 600 hectares, has sprung up near Mutrajpalli for the displaced families of the Mallanna Sagar project which is indigenous to about 13 villages in the Thogutta and Kondapaka authorities. While the government completed the construction of approximately 2,500 homes, home plots were given to nearly 3,000 eligible persons in the R&R colony. As a result, approximately 5,500 families from these towns will now live in the same area.

“I was afraid of the promises the government made then. But now I feel happy that they have kept their promise and created a facility to lead better lives, ” said Kodakindi Laxmi, a curator of Pallepahad and now in Mutrajpalli.

Under the R&R package, each displaced family also received a compensation of Rs 7.5 lakh. Each youth over the age of 18 also received Rs 5 lakh compensation and a house of 250 square meters. ‘We lived our lives in a small house in Pallepahad. But the officials allocated two houses in the new colony for our family, as my son is also eligible for the house. I must also thank the officials for allocating both houses on either side of the road, ”said Maduguri Laxmirajaiah.

Siliveru Veeraiah, a curator of Thanedarpalli who lost his properties under the Kondapochamma Sagar project, is pleased that he will now have access to all facilities enjoyed by people in urban areas. He stated that the new city developed by the government was much better than his hometown. Although he would miss his town, he does not regret that he decided to go for the benefit of society.
