Telangana: project managers happy with R&R agreement

Hyderabad: For any person, the home is a place full of memories, emotions and relationships. It is very difficult for anyone to leave their home and town behind and move to new places for unavoidable reasons. It is even harder for them to sit in a new place and not regret their decision to leave their town.

But the residents of Rehabilitation and Resettlement (R&R) Colony, now known as Ranganayakapuram near Siddipet, find no reason to regret their decision to leave their villages which are now under the Annapurna (Anantagiri) reservoir on the border of the Siddipet districts and Rajanna Sircilla is not. In fact, they are delighted to own a spacious home in a gated community-like colony with all possible amenities such as CC roads, drinking water pipeline, underground drainage system, green and all other facilities including school and hospital, within walking distance.

‘It’s been about a year since we moved to Ranganayakapuram, and we do not feel the difference between our hometown and the new colony. In fact, we have better facilities and instead of living in a remote village, we now have access to better education and health care as the colony is located very close to the city of Siddipet, “explained Burra Madhavi of Ranganayakapuram.

It is not only Madhavi, but many of the displaced families have sacrificed their properties to enable the state government to include massive projects such as Annapurana Reservoir (Anantagiri), Sri Rajarajeshwara Reservoir (Mid Manair), Mallanna Sagar and Kondapochamma Sagar. However, the state government led by Prime Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao ensures that these curators do not regret their decision, and go the extra mile to ensure that they are comfortable in their new homes.
