    Increased anxiety during cuts/deficits

Good afternoon forums. I've been bodybuilding for over a decade now but I still seem to struggle to get down into the single digits, in fact I've probably only been that low once in my early twenties.

The main problem I seem to face is increased anxiety and panic attacks when I'm deep into my caloric deficit—my body becomes increasingly sensitive to caffeine and pre-workout stimulants that REALLY hinder my progress. (There's just no way I'm going to eliminate caffeine entirely as that was one of my key ingredients to getting very lean in my early twenties.) I've been to the hospital multiple times in the last 5-6 years strictly from panic attacks and anxiety when I'm dieting down. I've been to a cardiologist and doctor several times and they tell me it all seems to just be psychological.

Any tips on lowering anxiety during caloric deficits? It's like my body becomes ULTRA sensitive to stimulants it's incredibly bothersome and I've finally decided to commit and do something about this to attain my dream physique. Thanks!

Note: I don't drop below 1800 calories during my cuts. Also, the increased anxiety may start at 12-14% body fat (I'm not even that low when it happens).
