In Chhattisgarh, more than 14 thousand new corona infected patients have been identified during the last 24 hours. With this, the number of Covid positive cases has increased to about four lakh 33 thousand.

Currently, about 86 thousand people are being treated in hospitals or in home isolation.

In Chhattisgarh, the number of CoVID patients is increasing rapidly. The number of deaths due to corona infection is also on sharp rise. According to the data given by the state government, 97 people died due to corona infection yesterday. Among the dead are elderly as well as young people.

The number of deaths is increasing at such a rapid pace that people have to wait at the crematorium for cremation of dead bodies. In view of this situation , setting up of more cremation centres are being considered in Raipur and Durg districts.

Besides, there is a long delay in receiving the report of the RT-PCR test. In most cases, it is taking at least 4 to 5 days after the test. Due to this, treatment of people starts late and their condition becomes serious.

In many districts including Raipur and Durg, beds are not available in hospitals due to the rapidly increasing number of corona infected patients.

Taking into consideration the circumstances, the work is in progress to establish Covid Care Centers with a capacity of 100 beds in all the block headquarters of Raipur district. Each of these centers will have 20 beds with oxygen- facility. In view of the increasing corona infection in Chhattisgarh, AIIMS, Raipur has also decided to increase the number of ICU beds for Covid-19 patients. Along with this, efforts will be made to provide medical facilities to serious patients by increasing the number of beds with oxygen facilities.
