IPL 2021 – SRH vs KKR: Days after recovering from COVID-19, Nitish Rana slams 50 off 37 balls, hits hat-trick of fours in IPL- Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) opening batsman Nitish Rana is in prime form in the IPL after recovering from COVID-19. He slammed a hat-trick of boundaries to Sandeep Sharma during the powerplay overs. The left-handed-batsman batsman is playing on 79 runs off 51 balls, which includes 9 boundaries and 4 sixes.

He also shared a fifty partnership for the first wicket with Shubman Gill and Rahul Tripathi for second wicket.

The development comes days after Nitish Rana recovered from COVID-19. He had joined the KKR camp after testing COVID negative twice.

KKR would be happy to get their star batsman back, especially after his recent red-hot form. The right-handed batsman, who took part in Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy and Vijay Hazare Trophy, is a vital cog in the KKR batting unit.

Despite being slightly inconsistent, he still managed to amass 352 runs in IPL 2020. Notably, he has racked up over 300 runs in each of the last four IPL seasons.

“Nitish Rana had checked into the KKR team hotel in Mumbai, on March 21, 2021 with a negative COVID report which was done on March 19, 2021. As per IPL protocol, he was tested on March 22, during his quarantine and the report showed that he was positive. He has had no symptoms and has been completely asymptomatic since. Again as per IPL protocol, he isolated himself and was tested again today. We are glad to report that he has tested negative. We expect him to start training with the team shortly and be fully fit well before the start of the season,” read a statement from KKR on April 3.

In the match, David Warner’s SRH won the toss and opted to bowl first.
