Kolkata, Apr 11 (UNI) After a critical comment on the Election
Commission of India (ECI) by West Bengal Chief
Minister Mamata Banerjee, her party (TMC) MP and nephew Abhishek
Banerjee also slammed the poll body on Sunday saying " EC’s servitude
towards @Narendramodi & @AmitShah is now disgustingly vulgar."
Party supremo Mamata Banerjee, while reacting to EC's ban on the
politicians from visiting the trouble-torn Cooch Behar district
for next 72 hours following the death of four persons on Saturday, on
Sunday said " EC should rename MCC as Modi Code of Conduct"
as the TMC supremo has to cancel her visit there.
Following her party MP from Diamond Harbour and nephew Abhishek
Banerjee, who is also the national president of
TMC youth wing said " EC’s servitude towards @Narendramodi &
@AmitShah is now disgustingly vulgar."
Using his social media the MP said " BJP’s lust for power has blinded
them. At least, EC can PRETEND to be impartial @MamataOfficial can be
stopped from meeting her people for 3 days but how will they take her out
from people’s hearts?".
" EC should rename MCC as Modi Code of Conduct," Ms Banerjee said on
her Twitter account. She further said " BJP can use all its might but
nothing in this world can stop me from being with my people & sharing
their pain. They can restrict me from visiting my brothers & sisters in
Cooch Behar for 3 days but I will be there on the 4th day!"
Ms Banerjee, who was also scheduled to hold two rallies in the neighbouring
district Jalpaiguri on Sunday and visit Cooch Behar to see the victims' family
members, has rescheduled her itinerary and decided to visit there on the 4th day.
