Bengaluru techie, family members among five killed in road accidents near Tirupur

The accident happened around 9.20am on Sunday.
COIMBATORE: Five people have died in two road accidents in Tirupur district of Tamil Nadu since Saturday night.
Three members of a family, including a six- year-old girl, died on the spot when a truck rammed their car on the Kamanaickenpalayam -Palladam Road on Sunday morning.
The deceased have been identified as V Karthikeyan, 36, of Vallakundapuram village near Dhali, his wife K Saranya, 33, and their daughter K Dhanya, 6. Karthikeyan was working as a software engineer in Bengaluru.
The family came to their native village a few days ago. The accident happened around 9.20am when they were returning to Bengaluru. Before ramming their car, the truck had hit another car. The passengers of the first other car escaped without injuries.
The dead bodies were sent to Palladam Government Hospital for postmortem. Preliminary inquiries revealed that truck driver N Kathiravan, 30, of Tiruchengode in Namakkal district had been under the influence of alcohol. The Kamanaickenpalayam police registered a case and arrested Kathiravan.

On Saturday night, two youths died on the spot when their motorcycle hit a roadside wall near Perumanallur. The deceased have been identified as V Praveen Shankar, 23, of Sivam Nagar at Perundurai in Erode district and L Manoranjan, 25, of Vellode in Erode district. The accident happened when they were heading towards Erode from Coimbatore.
The Perumanallur police registered a case.
