In his innings, he smacked 2 fours and 2 sixes. He came at the crease when SRH were struggling at 10/2 and ensured KKR do not get his wicket cheaply. The right-handed batsman shared a partnership of 92 runs for the third wicket with opening batsman Jonny Bairstow (55).

In the match, Nitish Rana and Rahul Tripathi played knocks of 80 and 53 respectively as Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) posted a total of 187/6 in the allotted twenty overs against SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) on Sunday here at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. Mohammad Nabi and Rashid Khan were among the pick of SRH bowlers with a couple of wickets each. Earlier SRH had opted to bowl first after winning the toss.
